The Knowledge base shows you how each article is doing and which questions are still missing an answer.
The article list
The table on the Knowledge base page has one row per article:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Title | With tags for Draft and Team only, and Outdated where it applies |
| Collection | Where it is filed |
| Views 30d | Reader views on the help center in the last 30 days. Drafts show a dash |
| Helpful | The share of readers who answered "Yes" to "Did this answer your question?" |
| Edited | When it was last changed |
A view is counted once per reader session, so refreshing the page does not inflate it. Votes are one per reader; a reader who changes their mind updates their vote rather than adding a second one.
Helpful votes
The Helpful figure appears once at least one reader has voted. Anything under 60% is marked Low as a prompt to rewrite the article. The vote box can be turned off in the help center layout settings, in which case no new votes arrive.
Outdated
A published article that has not been edited for 180 days gets an Outdated tag. It is a nudge to check it still matches your product; editing the article clears it.
Asked in Desk, not answered yet
On the right of the Knowledge base page (and in the article editor), this list shows questions from the last 30 days that arrived in Desk and that none of your published articles covers, grouped and counted. For each you see how many times it was asked.
- Click Asked N times to open those conversations in Desk.
- Click Write article to start a new draft titled with the question.
When nothing is open, it says every recent question has an article. In the editor, the list favours questions close to the article you are working on.
One article's numbers
Open an article that has been published and the right column shows Last 30 days: Views, Found it helpful and Inserted in replies (how often your team put it into a Desk reply).
Help center totals
The status bar at the top of the Knowledge base shows total article views for the last 30 days. In Desk analytics, Answered by articles shows the share of article views that ended without the reader sending a message.
