Poll results and export

Watch votes arrive live, see who voted for what, and export every vote as a CSV file.

Updated . 2 min read.

Open a poll from the Polls list to see its results. No setup is needed.

Live results

The Live results panel shows each choice with its percentage and vote count, and the total number of votes. While the poll is live, the page refreshes itself every 15 seconds.

Depending on the question type you will also see:

  • An Average for rating and score questions.
  • An average rank per choice for ranking questions.

Under the results you will find Most votes from (the site that sent the most visitors) and Last vote, when that information is available.

If nobody has voted yet, you will see "No votes yet. Results appear here as soon as someone votes."

See individual votes

Choose View all votes to open a table with each vote, its comment (if comments are on), and when it was cast. Choose Hide votes to close it. The table is paged.

Export to CSV

Choose Export N votes as CSV. The file includes one row per vote with these columns: choice, choices, ranking, scale_value, comment, and created_at.

What voters see

You control this in Settings under Results visibility:

Setting Voters see results
After voting Only once they have cast a vote
Always visible Before and after voting
Hidden Never - only you see them in the dashboard

Show total vote count on results controls whether the number of votes is displayed.

Editing a poll that has votes

If people have already voted, rewording a choice keeps its votes, but removing a choice deletes the votes for it. Formspring warns you on the poll page.
